International Conference of Sport Kinetics
Current and Future Directions in Human Kinetics Research
25-27 September 2009, Kallithea, Chalkidiki, Greece

In September 2009, in sunny and hospitable Greece, took place 11th International Conference of Sport Kinetics. Its organizers were: International Association of Sport Kinetics and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Our host was Professor Christos Papadopoulos of Thessaloniki University, who made our memories of the conference (not only scientific ones) especially vividly and pleasant.
The Authors index of the papers, presented at the Conference, included 570 names from all over the world. There were presented 9 keynote lectures (by Prof. Gerd-Peter Brüggemann, Prof. Peter Hirtz and Prof. Gudrun Ludwig, Prof. Vassilis Klissouras, Prof. Paavo Komi, Prof. Christos Kotzamanidis, Prof. Robert Malina, Prof. James Skinner, Prof. Christos Papadopoulos et al., and Prof. Włodzimierz Starosta. Unfortunately, another keynote speaker, Prof. Albrecht Claessens of Belgium, did not take part at the Conference.

There were also presented 9 workshop lectures, 90 oral presentations, and 162 poster presentations.
At the conference, IASK President, Prof. Włodzimierz Starosta appointed the Prize Commission for awarding young scientists (under 35) in two categories: poster and oral presentations. Its members were:

Prof. Peter Hirtz - Chairman,

Prof. Peter Blaser,

Prof. Wiesław Osiński,

Dr. Wacław Petryński.

After assessment of all presentations of young scientists who enter for competition, the Commission decided to award following persons: Poster sessions:

1. Guido Belli, Italy,

2. Theodora Vasilapolou, Greece,

3. Katarzyna Kucia, Poland.

Oral sessions:

1. Florian Kugler, Germany,

2. Stig Leierdal, Norway,

3. Gaja Liviotti, Germany/Italy.

The results were announced by Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Peter Hirtz, at evening meeting of the conference participants on 27.09.2009. The winners were awarded N.A.
